NVIDIA’s RTX 3050 8GB desktop graphics card has been on sale for the last month, and the first models use the GA106 core of the RTX 3060. The full GA106 core has 3840 CUDA cores, while the RTX 3050 desktop graphics card is enabled with 2560. the GA107 core is smaller and the full version has 3072 CUDA cores.

The new RTX 3050 GA107 model will reportedly actually offer slightly better power efficiency, with a TDP change from 130W (GA106 model) to 115W (GA107 GPU).

Notably, Igor notes that the GA106 and GA107 GPUs are pin-compatible, meaning that board partners won’t need to make design changes; they’ll just need to use a different processor and a compatible BIOS.

The Nvidia RTX 3050 graphics card went on sale at 10 p.m. on Jan. 27 for $1,899 to $2,999. Currently, most of the RTX 3050s that can be bought are above $2599.
